Want to try climbing?

If you’ve never climbed before – or if it’s been a really long time since you hit the walls – your first port of call will probably be a taster session. We run climbing and bouldering taster sessions in North Devon on a daily basis for novice climbers who want to give this thrilling activity a go for the first time.

If you’ve never climbed before – or if it’s been a really long time since you hit the walls – your first port of call will probably be a taster session. You can choose between Roped Climbing Taster or a Bouldering Taster, or if your really keen try both!

All of the equipment you need is included in the price of your session, so just turn up and get climbing!

Due to the nature of roped climbing, the minimum age for a taster session at Rock and Rapid Adventures is 6.

How Much do they Cost?

Our climbing and bouldering tasters in Devon at Rock and Rapid Adventures cost £15 per person for 1 hours of climbing with an instructor.

What Do I need to Wear?

For our climbing or bouldering taster sessions in Devon, we recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that allows you t0 move freely and comfortably. Trainers are great, although we can provide climbing shoes if needed (climbing shoes are required in the boulder centre).

I have already had a taster session, can I do it again?

Yes of course, we have so many challenges on the wall that we can always run each taster session to everyone’s ability – whether it’s your first time, a refresh or a more in-depth climbing lesson. Especially now that we have just opened up a brand new bouldering centre!

My children have completed a taster session and want to continue with the sport, what else is available?

I am an adult and want to take up climbing, what is my next step?

Your next step would be to book an induction course with us – this will teach you all the skills to use the centre as a competent individual. After this, you can progress to a four-week improver course, which has no set dates and is designed to suit your needs. Check out our courses page for more information!
